Monsters!

Hi! Here's a card inspired by this week's Cupcake Inspirations challenge, 'Monsters'. I used the colours from the current MFT challenge. I coloured the image by scribbling with watercolour pencils, then smoothing it out with a water brush, trying to still leave a bit of texture to suggest monster fur!

Wildflowers

Hi! Here's a card I made today. I wanted a tall flower, so it would work for the current CAS(E) this Sketch challenge, so I sketched a flower. I rediscovered my watercolour pencils today! I'm not very good at colouring, so I roughly coloured with the pencils and then used a water brush to blend and soften the colours. When it was dry, I went over the flower with a fine black marker, and added some detail to the ground. I stamped the birthday sentiment, and used a Uni Posca pen to add little white dots to the flowers and leaves.

More Oxides and Spookery

Hi! Here's another card using a background made from Distress Oxides. I made the moon by adding a circle of Zig 2 way glue and covering it with gilding flakes. I taped the background behind the black frame, and added the die cuts of the cats and witch with 3D squares.

Autumn Flowers

Hi! Here's a card I made by die cutting some backgrounds I made with Distress Oxides. I love the Autumnal colours! I'm still getting the hang of die cutting, and I'm not sure if I've overdone it a bit, but it looked too plain with just the two large flowers. So I added some smaller leaves and small flowers, to try to create a bit of undergrowth. I usually add gems to the centre of flowers, but I went with pearls, as their softer look worked better with the colours.

Dropped in a Puddle of Glimmer Mist!?

Hi! Still smooshing Distress Oxides around, and generally making a mess, I made this card using colours inspired by the challenge at Sunday Stamps. I didn't have a teal colour in my collection of Oxides (oooh, do I need to go shopping?) so I used normal Distress ink with Candied Apple Distress Oxide, and they worked really well together. I love this smooshing technique! When it was dry, I fixed it behind a die cut frame, and added a die cut dandelion with a gem for the centre. I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the card, and then decided to add 'a little' Glimmer Mist. Unfortunately, I got a bit carried away and ended up drenching the whole thing. It has a lovely shimmer now, but the sentiment has blurred a little, and I'm not sure if the overall effect is 'nice and shimmery' or 'dropped in a puddle'. But anyway, here's the card:

Bats!

Hi! Here's a card I made using distress oxides and die cut bats. I really love distress oxides, and getting messy with smooshing the ink around. It's quite addictive, and I love the end result!

I didn't add a sentiment because I don't really send Halloween cards, but I might send a cute bat card for a birthday or just as a Thinking of You (although some people might take that personally...). Anyway, here's the card!

Wishing You Some Magic

Hi! Here are a couple of quick CAS cards I made. I coloured the wings with inks and a water brush. I added some shimmer to the moon with a Wink of Stella pen, although I'm not sure you can see it in the photos. I added Glimmer Dust to the fairy's wings and to the stars.
